Privacy Policy

This policy describes how David South handles information in connection with souths.tv and Souths n8n Alerts, a private automation used to review operational email notices. The alert application is for David’s own accounts; it is not a public email service.
Website visits and contact
The portfolio is a static website. Its hosting and delivery providers may process technical request information such as IP addresses, browser details, requested URLs, and request times to deliver and secure the site. The current portfolio does not intentionally embed advertising trackers or analytics scripts. If you contact David by email, your address, message, and any information you provide are used to respond and manage that correspondence. Links to other services are governed by those services’ policies.
Google account and email access
Souths n8n Alerts connects to David’s Gmail account with Google OAuth authorization. The configured workflow searches recent operational notices, reads message identifiers, sender and recipient information, subjects, snippets and labels, sends a short notification to David, and applies a label after a successful notification. It does not download attachments or full message bodies for this routing task. Google permission prompts may describe broader Gmail permissions than the subset used by the workflow.
Purpose and sharing
Email information is used to identify AWS action notices and server-maintenance exceptions, prevent duplicate notifications, and support operational troubleshooting. It is not sold, used for advertising, or used to train general-purpose AI models. The configured alert-routing workflow makes no AI calls. Notifications go to David’s configured email address, not to a public audience.
Google provides Gmail and authorization services. The private n8n installation runs on Hetzner infrastructure, and AWS services support hosting, operational notifications, and encrypted backups. These providers process information needed to supply their services. David and authorized technical assistance may access relevant information for administration and troubleshooting. Information may also be disclosed where required by applicable law.
Storage, retention and security
Messages and labels remain in Gmail until changed or deleted. Connection credentials are stored by n8n, with secret credential data encrypted at rest by n8n. Workflow configuration, operational records, error information and backups may retain relevant data. Successful execution payloads are not retained by this alert workflow; failed executions may retain troubleshooting information. Records are kept as needed for operation, security, recovery and correspondence. Removed information may remain in backups until those backups are rotated. Access controls and encryption are used where configured, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
Control and deletion requests
The account owner can revoke the Google connection through Google Account connections and disable the workflow in n8n. Revoking authorization stops further authorized access but does not automatically delete existing messages, labels, operational records or backups. Google API data
Use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

This page may be updated when the site or automation changes. The effective date above identifies the current policy.
